Innovative development has gradually become an important part of the current economic and social development，how the museum science should be optimized and adjusted according to the new situation has become particularly important，while the existing research is less concerned about this. Based on this，on the basis of an in-depth study of the relationship between museum science and innovative development，it reveals some problems in the museum popular science，namely that science venues，talents and exhibitions clearly lag behind museum construction，science fund structure is unreasonable and the per capita level is low，innovative and entrepreneurial functions are insufficient and contribute little to the development of enterprises. The paper believes the main reason is paying too much attention to museum construction，the deviation of popular science cognition，and the invalidity of science talent training mechanism. Finally，based on the perspective of innovation development，it puts forward how to effectively carry out the science popularization of museums in three aspects：innovation awareness training，innovation system construction and innovation ability improvement，hoping to provide clear direction for museum popular science in the new period.
