The urban and rural residents income and consumption continued to maintain a rapid growth in 2009 in Beijing.The rural residents income growth accelerated and the trend of widening gap between urban and rural areas has began to keep down.However，the income of assets grew too fast，and the wage income grew slowly，hard-working is hard to become rich，that further widened the income gap between different groups.On the basis of medical and other social security system improvement，the pressure on health care and compulsory education spending was reduced.The service consumption of urban residents increased rapidly，the consumption structure is more optimized.The growth rate of investment is faster than living consumption in urban.The rural consumption is accelerating.housing consumption is entering a new phase of a high-speed growth.The consumption market in 2009 continued hot，but the rate of household consumption is declining.The gap of income and consumption between different groups continues to expand.This reflects the deep-level social structural imbalances.At present，expanding consumption must focus on improving the consumpition of the lower social classes，changing their consumption patterns；keeping down the invest ment demancl in housing markets，controlling house prices，and developing low-rent housing to protect the right of residence of urban residents.
