The sense of security of tourists is the most basic demand for tourists at the destination. The occurrence of security incidents at tourist destinations has an important impact on the tourist’s intention to travel. In recent years，the frequent occurrence of security incidents in Taiwan has reduced the willingness of mainland tourists to go to Taiwan. The article analyzes the characteristics and influencing factors of tourism security incidents in Taiwan，and systematically compared with previous years. The research found that：（1） The number of tourist safety incidents in 2018 decreased compared with 2017，and the casualty rate also decreased. （2） In the 2018 tourism security incident，accident disasters accounted for 50%. It is worth noting that earthquakes caused by natural disasters The number of deaths was as high as 9. （3） The security incidents in 2018 occurred mostly in the spring，and the spatial distribution was uneven. Based on this，this paper suggests that the Taiwan region should strive to create a safe tourist environment for tourists，and reduce the destructive nature of natural disasters and improve the safety of vehicles to form a “leisure” tourism environment and enhance the sense of safety of tourists.
