This report examines the safety status of major tourism destinations in China in 2018 by using pre-analytically constructed and tested indicator systems and multivariate statistical analysis methods. The main findings are as follows：（1） the overall tourism safety degree of the sample areas presents a good trend，but the gap between the tourism safety resistance and invasion degree is small，and the spatial differentiation of tourism safety degree is obvious；（2） tourists’ sense of safety index is in a relatively safe state，but the difference of sense of safety index is small，and the spatial distribution is relatively significant；（3） Economic factors are important driving factors to enhance the resistance. The investment in infrastructure and the importance attached to safety are important components of safety resistance. Natural disasters pose a great threat to tourism safety invasion，and the threat of public health events and other risk factors also need to be attached great importance. （4） The spatial distribution pattern of tourists’ safety expectation and safety perception is significantly different，and the effect degree of influencing factors is different. The report also analyzes the tourism safety hot issues reflected by the evaluation results. Such as，how to enhance the ability of tourism safety to prevent and mitigate disasters through institutional reform；how to innovate the way of tourism safety management and improve the ability of tourism safety management；how to improve the basic needs of tourism safety and comprehensively enhance the tourists’ sense of safety. Finally，this report presents management recommendations for rationalizing the tourism safety management system，improving the tourism safety management system，innovating the tourism safety supervision method，further coordinating the tourism safety guarantee resource allocation mechanism，and consciously improving the tourist safety risk response ability.
