With the increasing scale of Chinese citizens’ travel，high-risk tourism activities，such as outdoor adventure，water sports，and high-speed& high-altitude tourism activities，are widely favored by Chinese tourists. In 2018，China’s high-risk tourism industry continued to develop，and the overall tourism safety situation was relatively stable. The government regulation and security warning system were gradually improved. The number of high-risk tourism safety incidents increased slightly，and the loss of accidents decreased，compared with 2017. Based on the overall high-risk tourism development situation of 2018，it is indicated that in 2019，the number of high-risk tourism participants will continue to grow，overseas high-risk tourism risk will increase，and some developments suggestions is also proposed of further promoting industry admittance threshold，strengthening safety education and increasing some specific high-risk tourism insurance products.
