The Law Institute of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences was established in August 1959，which is the earliest professional research institute of geomethodology in China. Retrospect the sixty years history，the Law Institute has been gone through from the initial blueprint，the initial years of suffering，to the later years of re-emergence. Several generations of researchers has pursued their dreams and fought against life. They have been made meaningful efforts in academic research，subject declaration，think-tank construction，communication and cooperation，journal editing，postgraduate education and personnel training. In addition，they also had watered the law garden with sweat and explored it，which was unique and unparalleled development path of our institute，formed our own characteristics，eventually ushered in the vigorous development of scientific research and the overall prosperity of today and for the city and the country’s rule of law construction has written a beautiful chapter.
