In this paper，the authors divide the economic development of Guangdong province since the reform and opening up into four stages，then sum up the basic experience and lessons of economic development，the reform and opening up of Guangdong. At a new historical starting point，Guangdong deepen reform and opening up faces new situation and new tasks，the authors analyze it systematically，and then put forward some suggestions on further deepening of reform and opening up，promoting high-quality economic development，such as strongly promoting the reform of the government itself，comprehensively deepening reform in key areas，and vigorously promoting the innovative，coordinated and shared development.
