Songyuan City is a typical resource-based city. Under the Influence of the low international crude oil price and economic downturn in recent years，the ranking of comprehensive competitiveness of the city has continued to decline. In 2017，Songyuan adhered to the theme of ecological revitalization，transformation and rise，and went all out to fight the “three major battles”，Economic and social development made some progress. The downward trend of comprehensive competitiveness slowed down and sustainable competitiveness increased slightly. However，the competitiveness of knowledge-based and information-based cities was short-cut. It has not been effectively solved，and the new kinetic energy of economic development has not been enough to form new support. In the future，Songyuan still needs to strengthen ecological construction，accelerate industrial transformation，improve the quality of economic development，and then improve the competitiveness of the whole city.
