This article reviews the realistic background and history of Macao's successful application for World Heritage，socio-economic development and urban industrial transformation，and proposes overall protection，digital management，renovation and concatenation of the world heritage sites to tackle the challenges and exploit the opportunities associated with the protection of world heritage sites，planning and construction of tourist centers in the cities，regional synergic development based on urban transport for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Link.Meanwhile，this article also promotes development of diversified tourism services for industrial transformation，which not only brings about positive interactions between the cultural heritage，the tourism industry and the cultural and creative industries，but also facilitates rational use and development of waterfront tourism spaces，coordination of port nodes and integration of regional transport networks.Finally，this article proposes a number of suggestions for improvement.
