In today's China，education is entering a special stage where diverse voices are emerging and new systems are replacing the old. Although the proportion of private schools in China is far behind that of developed countries，international schools，mostly consisting of private bilingual schools，have been booming during the past 20 years，which effectively complement and impact the public education. At the same time，various factors such as policies，funding，staff，management，and parents have created many challenges for international schools，many of which are not necessarily of good quality. It is the key to promote diversity and improve China's education ecosystem that how parents and educators understand the core of international education，whether they can return to the essence of education，learn from other countries selectively and critically when they invest in and run international schools.
