Since its reform and opening-up，China has made significant progress in private education，with the newly amended Law on the Promotion of Non-public Schools quietly forming a policy system to support the development of private education. How to respond to specific problems in the for-profit and not-for-profit classification reform has become a key issue in the development and reform of private education in China. The amendment of the Implementation Regulations on the Law on the Promotion of Non-public Schools made it clear that supervision and support would coexist and this would be the norm for private education. With the for-profit and not-for-profit classification reform as its core，the recent amendment to the law is leading the transformation and reform of private education. A new era of development by law has arrived for private education in China.
