With much attention and strong support from the Communist Party of China （CPC） and the nation，China's special education has made significant achievements in recent years. They include：building more and better special needs schools，improving the professional competency of special needs teachers，improving teachings norms and effectiveness，and improving access to higher education for persons with disabilities. The focus of development has gradually shifted from ensuring access to education for all disabled children to improving the quality of education，and providing every disabled child with education and rehabilitation services suitable for their development. In the future，an emphasis should be put on strengthening the development of special education beyond compulsory education，improving the level of support for incorporating disabled children to attend regular classes，and further ensuring special needs teachers' competency and the benefits they enjoy.
