The total planting area of tea in Yunnan has reached 413300 hectares in 2017. There are more than 8 million farmers working in Yunan’s tea industry. Over 11 million people have been engaged in tea business，which is nearly one quarter of Yunan’s population. Yunan has ranked 7th in the export of tea in China，accounted for 7900 tons. Total volume of exports has reached 38.6 million dollars mainly based on black tea，green tea and pu-erh tea. With the development of market economy，more and more companies in Yunan’s tea industry are trying to develop multichannel selling，combined with tea cultivation，tea processing and tea sales. In order to develop new areas with high additional value such as tea culture tourism，cultural creative products of tea，etc. Yunan’s tea industry has been vigorously developing its tea comprehensive processing，tea derivative products and industry chain.
