On the anniversary of the promulgation of the Charity Law of the PRC，Guangzhou proposed a strategic decision in 2017 to deepen the “Yangcheng Philanthropy for the People” campaign and build a “City of Philanthropy” on a national level.In the process of building the “City of Philanthropy”， Guangzhou has set up a platform for cooperation among the government， charitable organizations， enterprises and citizens， which widely stimulates the vitality of civil society and forms a mechanism featuring Party committees leadership， government promotion， charitable organizations operation， civil society engagement and sharing by all.In 2017，Guangzhou formulated five charity policies，perfected seven charity platforms，implemented six charity service plans，and launched six charity cultural icons.After one year's efforts，Guangzhou's charity development showed a new trend of vigorous development and achieved certain stage results.After more than a year's efforts，philanthropy in Guangzhou has shown a new trend of vigorous development and achieved certain stage results.At present，there are some shortcomings in philanthropy in Guangzhou：the initiative of applying for charitable organizations needs to be improved，the lack of brand charitable organizations and well-known projects on the national level，and the charity innovation needs to be further explored.In order to solve these problems，Guangzhou should take the party construction as the guidance，take the government as the leader，take innovation as the driving force，so as to promote philanthropy in Guangzhou to a new level and make Guangzhou an international philanthropy hub platform.
