In 2017，great progress has been made in the protection，utilization and development of cultural heritage in Hubei Province .The progress is mainly reflected in the solid advancement of the basic work of cultural heritage protection and utilization，the steady implementation in the application and management of world cultural heritage sites，the rich achievements in the protection of large sites，the gratifying achievements in archaeological work，the opportune development of the natural and historical cultural heritage protection of the Three Gorges，and the South-to-North Water Transfer Project，the improving level of cultural heritage inheritance and utilization. However，in the process of protection and development of cultural heritage，there are also problems such as old concepts and insufficient awareness，insufficient investment in cultural heritage protection，imperfect development mechanism for cultural protection undertakings，low level of protection，difficult enforcement of cultural heritage protection，urgent need to strengthen the protection of cultural relics，few ways and means of rational use of cultural heritage，insufficient use of education and leisure functions，etc.Therefore，it is urgent to take effective measures in ideology，financial security system，implementation of policies and regulations，talent attraction，innovation of cultural and creative products to further promote the protection and development of cultural heritage in Hubei Province.
