Starting from the sociocultural perspective of Heritage Language and，therefore，its role for（re）identification，organization and transformation of social groups on mobility or migration contexts，this chapter present and discuss some characteristics about the teaching of Portuguese as a Heritage Language（PHL）for school aged members of Brazilian community in Dongguan，China. For this，we do an introduction about the general context of PHL in China and make a brief literature review about the concept of Heritage Language to present the recent movement and engagement of Brazilian parents and researchers to develop and include this topic on research and language planning agendas. To better understand the features and challenges of the Brazilian community in Dongguan，we will base our discussion on data collected by field trips，interviews and surveys. Our objective is to bring forward the reasons for the need to enlarge the discussion about the implementation of policies and actions to promote PHL and need of rethink the recognition and accreditation of this schools by the host country and Brazilian governments.
