Chinese excellent traditional culture is the source and fertile soil of film and television art creation. The creation of 108 micro films of “Tang Dynasty Poetry Stories” has made a beneficial exploration in the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese excellent traditional culture. Based on stories in line with the historical background，this paper grasps the artistic conception of the Tang poetry and the poets' feelings，carries out the practice of script writing and editing，explores the artistic creation rules of micro film and short video from the aspects of plot，dialogue，artistic conception and de-conceptualization creation and finds innovative ways to comprehend excellent traditional culture.
