This paper describes the development of short video in China，such as publishing platforms，video producers，types of programs，program durations and short video development of the three central medias based on the latest monitoring data. The main types of hit short videos have been summarized in this paper，and four major suggestions were propounded on how the mainstream media could further develop short videos and enhance the mainstream public opinions on the Internet.
