In recent years，the activities of protection of ancient books has continued to move forward to the era of public participation.Cultural volunteer service organized by Ancient Books Preservation and Conservation Association of China has effectively promoted the process of nationwide census of ancient books. It also makes the activities of protection of ancient books and the idea of social participation more accessible to the general public and advocates the sense of responsibility among young students.This article summarizes the favorable experiences suchas taking Association as an organizational platform，strengthen the organizational leadership，standardizes management，innovatesing implementation methods and paysing attention to propaganda and so on.
