The Silk Road is a long-term commercial and trade channel in human history，and also a hard and grand “expedition” for commodities，skills，emotion，cognition，etc. This paper makes a historical investigation on the ancient Silk Road，analyzes its formation and development，explains the historical relationship between the Land of Abundant and the Silk Road from four aspects，and finally puts forward seven practical values of the Land of Abundant and the Silk Road：inheriting the Ba-Shu civilization，with promotion and transformation；highlighting the advanced culture and enhancing citizens' spiritual benchmarks；stimulating cultural creation and enriching the life of social aesthetics；integrating into community development and writing the unique charm of the city；building a world famous city and leaving a splendid chapter around the world；carrying forward the spirit of the Silk Road and promoting the unity of humankind；and forming a silk road network and jointly building and sharing the “Belt and Road”.
