With the rapid development of internet，the traditional paper intermediary，which is facing huge impact of new media，has been trying to transform. Typically，academic journals adapts to this trend actively，through the full use of social network academic resources，seeking the right to academic discourse. As we all known，academic journal has important mission of academic communication and the construction of social spiritual civilization，its communication methods and means are different from the general paper media. Nowadays，accordingly，with the increasingly focus on academic content，the author’s academic dominance is enhanced，if use social networks actively，academic journals can improve their academic influence more deeply. Based on the investigation and research on the social network of academic journals，we found that the majority of academic journals attach great importance to social networks；however，they are also facing some difficulties like the talent shortage，Internet concepts backward，capital scarcity and so on. Therefore，in order to put the social network into full play in academic journals media，it is needed to increase investment in Internet concept innovation，capital and talent reserves.
