The construction of clean-governance studies as a discipline is of academic and practical significance to anti-corruption and public integrity. Nevertheless，the current discipline has neither analyzed past research nor defined its own object of study. As a reflection of the progress made in the practice of combating corruption and upholding integrity，research in the field has provided a solid intellectual basis for clean-governance studies. Our analysis shows that the subject matter of clean-governance Studies comprises two highly interrelated and mutually reinforcing aspects：（1） corruption analysis and its prevention；and （2） clean-governance ideas and their implementation. Clean-governance studies can，therefore，be defined as a discipline which is devoted to the analysis of the phenomena，causes and solution of corruption，as well as the study of clean-governance ideas and system building. Clean-governance studies in the future should，based on the past achievements made in the anti-corruption movement，strengthen the combination of theory and practice，identify the relationship between corruption prevention and clean-governance policies，with a view to developing a more full-fledged theoretical system and bolstering the progress of anti-corruption practice.
