Red gene，as a heritage of revolutionary spirit，is an important manifestation of the red spirit，as well as a symbol of light and strength，loyalty and faith，representing for endurance，braveness and dedication.Red gene is based on red resources，with red culture as the carrier，and has important educational functions.It is also the most precious ideological and political education resource in colleges and universities.At the highest level of China's higher education system，postgraduate education has contributed a large number of high-level talents to the country.Moral education is the most important part of postgraduate education.And the moral education is one of the most important part of the graduate student education.To cultivate high-level talents equipped with ability and political integrity，we need to give full play to the educational function of red gene，make the red genes play an important role in the postgraduate ideological and political education，and achieve the goal of cultivating high-level talents equipped with ability and political integrity.With the development and changes of our time，especially in the era of global economic and social changes，we should add new meaning to the red gene.Based on the research and practice of red gene in the ideological and political education of postgraduate students of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law，this paper studies the educational value of red gene，as well as how to increase the value of red gene，and expand the way of cultivating talents.
