For universities，strategic planning is an assignment and instrument of their development，which plays an important role in the process of building a world-class university.Strategic planning of world-class universities in Hong Kong has clear orientation and goals，specific strategic research fields and sufficient supportive resources.Meanwhile，it reflects that the relationship between Hong Kong universities and the mainland has been deepening，interdisciplinary research and interdisciplinary education has been perfecting，and the reform and innovation of education has been updating.In the end，it is suggested that world-class universities in China mainland identify academic direction by strategic planning，strengthen the system of education with the idea of student-centered and make innovative organization patterns to promote interdisciplinary fusion.
