Education equity is the important means of social equity.The Macau Special Administrative Region has implemented 15 years free education since 2007.It is a direct measure to enhance education equity and students’ right to education.However，owing to the historical conditions，private schools in Macau occupy a significant percentage，amounted to 96% of the total school places in the non-tertiary education sector.In last few years，there was a drastic decline of birthrate which had brought some impact on some private schools，in particular，student recruitment.This article stems from this context to explore education equity issue in the context of free education.
