Four topical issues that took place in 2017 in equipment manufacturing industry is selected in this chapter to analyze their backgrounds and significance. The four topical issues respectively are “China shall pay attention to the equipment manufacturing industry development”，“Plenty of breakthroughs took place in the equipment manufacturing industry”，“Civil-military integration has promoted the high-quality development of equipment manufacturing industry”，“Multiple provinces and cities have taken measures to speed up the equipment manufacturing industry development”. These issues reflected that，in the background that China is constructing its manufacturing power，our country has attached great importance to the development of equipment manufacturing industry，China's equipment manufacturing enterprises have taken great effort in independent innovation and the key technical breakthrough，the government and the social from all walks of life have co-operated to promote the localization rate improvement，structural adjustment，transformation and upgrading of equipment manufacturing industry. These four events are of great significance to the development of the equipment manufacturing industry，and reflect the development mode and direction of the equipment manufacturing industry in the future.
