On the basis of summarizing the development status and trend of heavy machinery development in the international market，and combined with the data this chapter analyzes the overall running condition and growing trend of heavy machinery in China in 2017 from the perspective of sub industry such as mining machinery，special metallurgical equipment and material handling equipment.The data shows that in 2017，the operation of the heavy machinery industry was in a stable growth situation，the main economic indicators performed well，and developed a number of significant technical equipments and upgraded new products.Base on insufficient market demand，industry over production capcacity，insufficient innovation capability，and gaps in technology levels，China's heavy machinery industry should further optimize its industrial structure，promote merger and reorganization，strengthen enterprise independent innovation ability，and improve industry comprehensive competitiveness.
