Qilian Mountain，located geographically close to the Hexi Corridor which is China's channel region，is of great significance for the ecological environment in western China and frontier region's governance. The ecological environment in Qilian Mountain have been destroyed for long in history. The CPC Central Committee and the relevant departments of the state council attaches great importance to ecological environment protection in Qilian Mountain and have made important instructions since February 2017. This paper analyzes the domestic academic research on ecological environment in Qilian Mountain in recent 20 years，also related research focus from 1998 to 2015 during which the amount of published papers on ecological environment in Qilian Mountain in Qilian Mountain increases，the number of published research literature rise in a straight line in 2015 especially 2017 showing the academia attaches great importance to the ecological environment in Qilian Mountain in recent years and making it become a hotspot in the field of domestic environmental protection research. Among all published articles on various field，those on forest are179，those on grassland are 141，those on glacier are 95 and those on water resources conservation are 96 over the years making it the focus of related on Qilian Mountain ecological research. This paper will analyze the following seven aspects of research results including glacier，forest，grassland，water resources and water resources conservation，desert，biodiversity，and also the management system of exploitation. We find out that there are more research in detail about the present situation of ecological environmental damage and its history，and related future development trend among the existing research results telling us that the wide application of modern analytical technology played an important role in such research but there is lack of specific data of biodiversity. Research articles tend to take the indigenous residents and their traditional nomadic lifestyle as the major reason for the ecological environmental damage in the Qilian Mountain rather than treat it as a traditional ecological view of nature from which we can draw lessons. Secondly the ecological restoration measures and the technical research results have been put into these articles which lack of content on the management system research，policy recommendations，environmental improvement and governance so that it has less value on giving concrete creative suggestions for national macro policy formulation. More study needs to be done in the future.
