Study tour is a vital means to implement quality education as well as being a part of the national education system in some developed countries. The Chinese government attaches great importance to the development of study tour and promotes it actively. On the basis of sorting out the origin，policy，characteristics and market of the study tour，combining with the Japanese implementation experience of excursion，finding that the current standards for study tour in China are more abundant，but it needs to work in detail. In this context，it is of great significance to accelerate the improvement of the service standards，enrich the product system and innovate the content form.
