The Trump administration abandoned America’s long-standing multilateral trade policy stance and turned to bilateralism，even unilateralism. Under the banner of free trade，the new U.S. government accuses the trade surplus partners of the United States of being unfair and/or un-reciprocal，and applies bilateral and unilateral means to force other countries to make concessions and changes in order to obtain the greatest benefits. In essence，this is a naked trade hegemonism. The new trade policy of the United States is absolutely away from free trade，but serving the interests of the United States. Sino-US economic and trade relations have plunged into an unprecedented difficult period during the Trump administration.
