This paper describes the development of the Internet in Japan in 2017 from the 4 aspects：the use of the big internet data，the E-Government's construction and the use，the Internet industry，and the Internet laws and regulations. Among the most notable is the two initiatives of the Japanese government from 2016 to 2017 to promote the use of large data on the Internet and to develop the basic law on the use of official People's data and the amendment of the “personal information protection law”. So in 2017，it was called “the first year of Japanese big data”.
