The research of economics in Hubei achieved fruitful results and became a decisive force of economics in China in 2017. From the economic academic achievements and various academic activities in Hubei，the economic researchers of Hubei respond to the call of the Party Central Committee and Hubei provincial Party committee actively. They carry out the spirits of the series of policy documents conscientiously，and give high attention to the hot spots，key and difficult problems in the current economy and society. Especially，the resources ＆ environment economics and agricultural economics have been highlighted by the economic researchers of Hubei，which have gained advantages of the group while have had a great impact on the whole country. In addition，the economic circles in Hubei also put more attention on the issues of finance and macroeconomics. The development level of economics in Hubei is higher than that of Jiangsu in 2017 based on the quantity and quality of the 11 top academic journals in Chinese. However，the economic researchers in Hubei should take efforts in the following areas in the future：how to build an economic theory system with Chinese characteristics，how to study the economic problems of China and Hubei under Marxism political economics，how to highlight the characteristics of Hubei and even to establish the“economic school of Hubei”.
