Since recent two years，the quality of poetry and prose has steadily improved in Henan province. There have appeared famous and new collections of poetry and prose respectively. The amount of single piece of the works has reached an unprecedented number. The activities on poetry are abundant and colorful. However，from the perspective of award and influence，there is still a space for Henan poets and prose authors to improve especially in gaining domestic related awards. The phenomenon of abundant works without peak works still exists. After the 19th CPC National Congress，Henan poets and prose authors should be clear about the creation direction and spare no efforts to climb the peak of the creation under the guidance of President Xi Jingping’s thought on the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics.
