With the global green and low carbon development and energy transition，the UK，Canada and some other countries initiated Powering Past Coal Alliance（PPCA）in November 2017. It aimed to tackle climate change by phasing out traditional coal-burning power generation for clean growth. Although its current influence is limited，in long term，it is absolutely part of solution to address climate change to reduce coal consumption for global green and low carbon transition. Being the largest producer and consumer of coal，China is making great efforts to control the total coal consumption by deepening supply side structure reform and effectively phasing out low efficient and surplus production capacities.
