<<This paper studies the coverage of three Canadian mainstream media outlets on the G20 Toronto Summit held in June 2010 in Canada. The selected media include The Global and Mail,CBC and The Toronto Star. Text analysis and content analysis are adopted in the paper. The main conclusions are:the reports of the three media outlets are concentrated on almost the same news events;the sources of news are similar;and each media has different reporting characteristics according to its own positioning. The paper also proposes some suggestions for how to better organize a large-scale coverage on a major event.
