2017 was a year of epoch-making significance for both China and the rest of the world，with the international opinion concerning China taking on a new look. This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the overseas media coverage of China in 2017 and identifies the features of media reports on China in terms of intensity and areas of interest，buzz words and expressions of overseas media coverage on China from their reports on such important events as the 19th National Congress of the CPC，the Belt and Road Forum on International Cooperation，and the BRICS Xiamen Summit，and such hot issues as China’s economic situation，bilateral relations between China and the United States，and the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China. Based on the above analysis，the paper makes a forward-looking analysis of overseas media reports on China in 2018.
