Luoyang’s folk museums are special museums that display folk customs and promotes Heluo culture. Under the guidance of Xi Jinping’s thoughts of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era，Luoyang’s folk museums are meeting new development opportunities and facing severe challenges such as pottery and china from different dynasties need to be protected and displayed，serious shortage of personnel，integration of cultural relics need to be accomplished and so on. To accelerate the development of Luoyang’s folk museums，this article points out the following solutions：to establish Luoyang Ancient Porcelain Museum and Luoyang Folk Museum；to establish protection and repair center for paper historical relics such as contracts and documents；to enhance the image of Luoyang as a famous historical and cultural city，promote the development of cultural relics protection and further establish Luoyang as a “city of museums”.
