In the critical period when China’s economic development enters a stage of high-quality growth，the coordination of economic development goals，ecological environment improvement goals and social progress goals requires the overall optimization of production space，ecological space and living space. Based on the classification of China’s current national land space，this paper defines the connotation and function of production，life and ecological space，and analyzes the progress and problems of China’s production-ecological-living space optimization，and proposes that the land space management ability should be improved from the aspects of reconstructing the spatial planning system，strengthening the space use control，improving the spatial planning legislation and establishing a differentiated performance appraisal mechanism，so as to realize the coordinated development of the production-ecological-living space.
