In 2017，nearly 100 thousand people donated 12.86×10⁴ U of blood in Dalian，which was 19.2%more than 2012，and donated 1.27×10⁴therapeutic amountapheresis platelets，an increase of 77.7% over 2012. 64.3% of those were donated by unpaid individuals and 35.7% were donated by organized groups. In order to meetclinical requirement，we strengthened recruitment，such as organizing “Blood Center open days”，launching various blood donation promotion activities during holidays and commemoration days，started online publicity of recruitment，and strengthening the publicity of unpaid blood donation in remote areas. We made an effort to create a good social atmosphere of blood donation. At the same time，we strengthened the clinical blood transfusion management of hospitals within the jurisdiction to ensure the safety of transfusion. This report sorted out the situation of blood service and unpaid blood donation，the work of blood collection and supply in Dalian in 2017. It focused on analyzing the problems and challenges faced by blood establishments under the new situation. In view of the downward trend of blood donations on the street and the mode of high cost operation of bloodEstablishments；Suggestions are put forward to provide reference for the development of blood service.
