Hemapheresis is becoming more and more popular in China.Apheresis platelets，an important form of apheresis，are widely applied in clinics.It is popular because of its advantages such as：high purity，less side effect and good treatment effect.The current domestic mainstream apheresis equipment is manufactured by three countries：The US，Germany and Japan.The domestic equipment is in the early stage and the intensity of independent innovation need to be increased.The total blood volume and total platelet count in China are increasing year by year，however，there is still a big gap between them and the demand for platelets.We suggest that something can be done to increase personnel training，improve public awareness，develop outstanding locally manufactured apheresis equipment，continuously improve the quality and quantity of apheresis and to promote the development of blood transfusion in China.
