The participation of youth groups in the public affairs presents such a trend that its scale becomes large，range becomes wide and levels become various. About the participation in public affairs，the young people mainly focus on and are active in the following three major fields：people’s livelihood，politics and social public domain. From the channels of young people participating in public affairs，it can be divided into two categories：traditional and non-traditional channels. The motivational mechanisms for youth participation in public affairs include exogenous and endogenous motivation. To further perfect and lead youth to participate the public affair，we recommend that make perfecting youth abilities to participate in national and social public affairs rise to the national strategic height；give full play to the role of the Communist Youth League as a bridge and link，expand the coverage of its work，enhance the cohesion of its work，stimulate the internal vitality，do a good job as the “spokesperson” of youth；continue to broaden all aspects of the channels in young people’s participation，actively create a good environment for youth participation；effectively play the role of other groups such as trade union、Women’s Federation in leading the youth to participate in；pay attention to strengthen the guide standard of youth social organizations；safeguard the legal rights of youth in accordance with the law；further strengthen the CCP’s leadership in youth participation.
