After monitoring 110 foreign representative media in 2017，2，215 pieces of Chinese and English public opinions concerning China’s agriculture，rural areas and farmers had been collected，with 47.7% increase compared with the previous year. Foreign media highly focused on agricultural trade and international cooperation. The top-5 hot topics covered by foreign media included domestic dairy industry，agricultural production，food security，veterinary sector and animal health. Foreign media positively focused on new changes in China’s policies concerning agriculture and rural areas，and the success of agricultural and rural areas reform and targeted poverty alleviation won applause from international community. Some hot issues caught public attention，including the 100-Day Action Plan of Sino-US Economic Cooperation that furthered the agricultural cooperation between China and US，China’s agricultural “going global” strategy under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative which aimed to jointly construct and share the fruit of development with other countries.
