In 2017，in the surveillance of 26 media from Hong Kong，Macao and Taiwan，the total volume of public opinions concerning agriculture，rural areas and farmers of the mainland grows by 2.5 times compared to the previous year. Focuses of the media include agricultural and rural reform of the mainland，agricultural production and food security，agricultural policy，etc. The media coverage focused on the deployment of agricultural supply-side structural reform in the Document No.1 of 2017，agricultural topics during the NPC and CPPCC sessions，the Rural Vitalization strategy and the renewal of rural land contract for another 30 years after the second round of land contract proposed at the 19th National Congress of the CPC，giant rice，success of the trial planting of sea-water rice and other achievements in agricultural science and technology. The media coverage also includes China-US agricultural trade and cooperation promoted by the “100-day plan” of China-US economic cooperation，and the agricultural cooperation and trade between China and countries along the Belt and Road under the Belt and Road Initiative. Besides，the agricultural cooperation across the Taiwan Strait has maintained very good momentum，which has also caught the attention of the media from Hong Kong，Macao and Taiwan.
