Combining machine retrieval and human analysis，there were over 2.09 million pieces of messages related to agricultural product quality and safety being monitored and 1081 public opinion samples being collected. After analyzing the source，attitudes，time sequence，causes，related industries，links and other features of those samples，we found that online public opinions concerning China’s agricultural product quality and safety showed a steady trend. This also reflected that the law-based regulation and science-based management of agricultural product quality and safety had entered a new era. Illegal uses of prohibited or restricted pesticides and veterinary drugs were still focuses of public opinions. Besides，the communication mode based on “WeChat，Weibo，micro-video plus client（1+3）” gradually took its shape，which deserves our attention. We should keep monitoring public opinions concerning agricultural product quality and safety and attach importance to the risk management of public opinions. What’s more，we should further enhance the communication of public opinion risks and popularization of scientific knowledge，and handle the aftermath of hot issues.
