The total volume of public opinions concerning agricultural production and food security in 2017 tripled on the previous year. Hot issues of the second half of 2017 outnumbered that of the first half；local media actively gave their voices，making initial reports on more hot issues than the previous year. Public interests focused on the agricultural supply-side reform with its requirement on invigoration of agriculture by improving its quality and green agriculture. Besides，quality and green development of agriculture production also attracted public attention throughout the year. Agricultural science and technology innovation was widely recognized，with hundreds of thousands of people hailing the achievements in rice technology，including breakthroughs in cadmium elimination technology in rice parental stock，9000 kilograms/hm² yield of sea-water rice and the successful trial planting of “giant rice”. Top-level design and supportive documents related to new types of agricultural business and skilled farmers were consecutively introduced to solve the problem of “who will farm”，regarded as policy dividend，which had continuously received public attention.
