At present，there are serious problems in the quality of Chinese herbal medicines. An emerging technology in the block chain，which establishes the characteristics of trust relationships under the conditions of demediating，can be applied in the field of traceability authentication of Chinese herbal medicines. This article explores the technical feasibility of applying block chains to the traceability of Chinese herbal medicines. Taking ginseng as an example，this paper expounds the construction ideas，methods and application of ginseng block chain traceability authentication platform in order to explore the application of emerging technologies in traditional fields.
