Looking at the achievements of Nanmang County in the past 60 years, we can find that the spread of modernity with bureaucratic management system, science and technology and market economy as the core constitutes the main driving force for local economic and social development, and the positive role of modernity should be fully affirmed. But the coin of modernity also has two sides. The diffusion of modernity is an important reason for the change of ecology. From the ecological changes of Nanmang County in the past 60 years, we can see the introduction of modernity and the impact of traditional decline. Modernity has broken the continuity of tradition. Anthony Giddens realized the particularity of modernity, a new thing different from the past, and pointed out that it was different from the traditional type of order in form. He argues that the need to deconstruct the historical view of linear evolution and recognize the "break" between tradition and modernity is mainly due to the following three points: the absolute speed at which the era of modernity arrives; the scope of modernity sweeping the globe; and the inherent characteristics of modern institutions. Anthony goes on to point out that understanding the nature of the rupture is an indispensable beginning to analyze what modernity is and to diagnose the consequences it has for us today.
