Citing data from the 9^th Internet Use by Minors survey in China，this study analyzes and compares the overall condition and characteristics of minors’ internet use in rural and urban China. Results show that compared to rural minors，those in cities are younger when they use the internet for the first time and they use it more frequently. Compared to their urban peers，rural minors rely more on phones and have longer sessions online. Differences are insignificant in terms of popular Applications and channels for accessing news. The report also analyzes problems that emerge in their internet use and their cause. It argues that to promote healthier internet usage，several Approaches should be prioritized，including governmental regulation，emphasis on parental responsibility in urban areas，and emphasis on multiple holders of responsibility in rural areas.
