2020年是“十三五”收官之年，北京市“十三五”规划的主要目标任务已经完成，并在全国范围内引领全面建成小康社会。北京经济总体水平进一步提高，产业结构进一步优化，“高精尖”制造业和文旅服务业优势进一步发挥，区域金融稳健发展。

本书立足梳理北京产业发展全貌，跟进北京产业调整动态，为充分发挥北京既有产业优势、补足产业短板提供多方面的研究支持。本书通过全景式回顾2020年北京产业结构变化探寻北京产业结构调整进程，并采用指数分析法对北京制造业、“高精尖”产业、文化产业等进行定量分析，从定量角度评估北京相关产业的发展阶段、突出优势、相对弱点，同时以专题形式对北京多个产业进行案例或实证分析，为北京文创产业、文化旅游产业、金融业发展提供了有针对性的建议。

北京是文化中心、国际交往中心，基于这两个中心，北京的文化产业、文创产业、文旅产业发展具有不可替代、不可复制的优势。本书中的多篇报告对此进行了分析，也印证了北京文化服务业对北京经济发展的拉动作用。但与此同时，北京文化服务业的发展在较大程度上依赖财政投入，与其他国际文化中心相比，显得竞争力不足，因此本书建议加快北京文化领域的消费升级，加强科技成果在北京文化领域的转化运用，运用科技手段展现北京历史悠久的特色文化等。
